Dental Checkups & Cleanings
The cornerstones of preventive dentistry are the twice-yearly dental checkups and hygiene visits. During your checkups and hygiene visits, we’ll inspect your teeth and gums thoroughly for any signs of damage, decay, or disease. We will use our intraoral cameras and digital X-ray technology to get a good look at your oral structures and give you a chance to see what’s going on with your oral health as well. We will thoroughly explain any findings and discuss treatment options if we find cavities, gum disease, or other problems. Once we’ve performed the dental exam, we’ll clean your teeth, removing all the plaque and tartar that you might have missed when brushing and flossing.
Any little smiles that you might have at home are always welcome here at Bethel Dental Clinic, whether they are a toddler, teenager, or somewhere in between. Our main goal is to help your child feel completely comfortable every time they come to see us and put them on the path towards a lifetime of healthy smiles. We can provide a number of services specifically designed to help growing smiles, and we’ll even take the time to teach them about the fundamentals of oral hygiene.
Dental Sealants & Fluoride Treatment
Dental sealants and fluoride supplements are two preventive dentistry treatments that help you better avoid cavities. These are especially important for children, who may not have gotten the hang of correct brushing and flossing routines yet. Dental sealants are made of a safe plastic that covers the tops of molars to keep debris from getting into the crevices on the top of the tooth, and fluoride is a natural mineral that has been shown to strengthen tooth enamel.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is very easy to miss during its early stages, leading many patients to not be diagnosed until the disease is quite advanced and not easy to treat. This is why at least one person loses their life every hour due to oral cancer. Nothing gets past our team’s trained eyes, because we have invested in technology that helps our dentists detect early stages of oral cancer. Every time you come to see us, we’ll examine your mouth with our technology for any signs of oral cancer. If we find any suspicious growths or sores, we’ll help you get a biopsy and diagnosis right away.
Night Guards for Bruxism
Many people unconsciously grind their teeth while they sleep as a response to daily stress, and this is actually called bruxism. This condition places forces on the teeth that are much greater than regular chewing and biting, which can cause the enamel to wear down and even fracture over time. However, simply by having a patient wear a nightguard to bed, we can keep their teeth protected. It is a small, custom-made oral appliance that places a thin barrier between the rows of teeth, preventing them from coming together.
